LIMITATIONS - AUDIO SYSTEMS/MUSIC

  • NAKED FLAMES PROHIBITED
It is strictly forbidden to use naked flames in Salone dei Tessuti: the catering area is equipped with adequate power supplies for electric appliances.
  • COURTYARD
The building’s inner courtyard is not part of Salone dei Tessuti and therefore is not licensed for events, unless by specific arrangements.
  • MAIN ENTRANCE AND ACCESS TO OFFICES
The main door of via S. Gregorio 29 gives access to the courtyard but also to an entrance dedicated to offices. In all those cases when access through the main entrance is specifically allowed for events at Salone dei Tessuti, the event organisers and their guests must allow adequate room for access to the offices.
  • AUDIO SYSTEMS/MUSIC
The surrounding buildings are mostly residential, therefore the use of sound systems in Salone dei Tessuti is subject to limitations imposed by law. For this reason Salone dei Tessuti is not an ideal location for night-time events with loud music.
  • PARQUET FLOOR
Salone dei Tessuti still boasts its original nailed oakwood floor dating back to the 1920s, with structural load limits for heavy items. Therefore, each event orgnisation has to provide adequate measures to spread the weight of heavy objects and protect the floor during movements and mounting operations.

GALTRUCCO AND SALONE DEI TESSUTI

  • Galtrucco, a renowned retailer of textiles and clothing founded by ancestor Lorenzo back in 1870, ceased its commercial activity in 2001 and refocused on its real estate business. The company, whose full name is Lorenzo Galtrucco S.p.A., is still owned by the Galtrucco family.
  • In addition to Salone dei Tessuti, Galtrucco’s property portfolio includes many of the shops that in the past contributed to the commercial activity’s recognition, such as those in Milan, Rome, Turin, Novara and Trieste.
  • Galtrucco acquired the space in the 1920s and then rebuilt it into today’s Salone dei Tessuti for the development of its commercial business in Milan. Salone dei Tessuti became the main showroom for Galtrucco’s fabrics during the following decades.
